For nearly a century, California Epsilon has been part of student life at Occidental College. Today, the chapter brings together students from across campus who are looking to get involved, take on leadership opportunities, give back through service, and make the most of their time at Occidental.
The Chapter House
A place to spend time together.
Located directly beside Occidental’s campus, the California Epsilon house is a central gathering place for members. It gives the chapter space to study, hold events, eat together, and spend time outside the classroom.
Eligible students may also have the opportunity to live in the house through Occidental’s housing process.

Leadership
Members have a real voice in the chapter.
Members can lead committees, plan events, manage chapter operations, and serve in elected positions. Because the chapter is close-knit, it is easy to get involved and make a visible impact.

Any eligible Occidental student is welcome to attend recruitment events and get to know the chapter.
California Epsilon is much less demanding than the large fraternity experience people often picture. Members balance academics, athletics, jobs, clubs, and other responsibilities, and the chapter respects those priorities.
While exact numbers can very year by year, there are usually 20-40 active SAE members on campus at any given time. For a school that hovers around 2,000 students, the size of our chapter has the feel of a tight knit community, while acting as a broad and diverse campus organization.
